Google’s Remote Desktop software is simple to use and completely free as well
The ability to remotely access your computer from a smartphone or tablet is the Holy Grail of mobile computing, but until now it’s been complicated to set up and meant spending cash on software. Yet Google’s Chrome Remote Desktop feature has made it all a lot easier, and – best of all – it’s completely free. Fire up Chrome and enter chrome://apps/ in the address bar. Click the ‘Web Store’ icon to the lower right, search for remote desktop and click the ‘+’ icon on the first result. Follow the steps to install it and set up a PIN if necessary. Next, install the Google Remote Desktop app on your Android or iOS device, fire it up and log in. You should now have access to your desktop and programs.
It even works if you’re on a mobile network connection, although you’ll need to ensure your PC is turned on.
